Calibration trainer
Practice giving 90% uncertainty intervals that contain the true value about nine times in ten.
Why calibration matters for WFF estimates
Welfare Footprint Framework (WFF) estimates combine durations, prevalences and other parameters, each with an uncertainty interval. Calibration training helps estimators set intervals that are wide enough, but not wider than needed.
It is fine not to know the answer
The questions are everyday general knowledge: the human body, nature, culture and daily life. You are not expected to know the answers. The skill is choosing a range you are 90% sure contains the true value. If you know little, give a wide range; if you know more, a narrower one.
How it works
Answer a round of about 20 questions. Enter a lower bound, then an upper bound, for each.
See the true value and its source after each answer, and a summary after each round.
Get your calibration result after 100 answers, then keep training with new questions every time.
