We are excited to introduce our new initiative, the Welfare Footprint Project’s Office Hours Program. In this program we open our virtual doors once a week and provide a platform for discussing any topic related to our work and its potential applications in animal welfare areas of your interest.
WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?
We invite anyone with a genuine interest in animal welfare – researchers, students, professionals, potential collaborators, advocates or simply passionate individuals – to discuss their interests or concerns with us. Meetings can happen in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
What Can We Discuss?
Our research directors, Cynthia and Wladimir, are available to discuss a wide range of topics. Here are a few examples:
Estimating welfare impact: how to use our method to quantify the (physical and/or psychological) pain resulting from welfare challenges experienced by individuals and populations in an environment or production context of interest.
Determining impact of interventions: how to determine the welfare impact of interventions, policies, reforms, new practices and strategies.
Questions about our findings: how specific estimates were calculated, how to interpret our findings, or how best to use them
Project ideas: if you think our input can be of help to your project in any way.
TIME SLOTS
Each session is designed to be a brief, focused (pro-bono) one-on-one conversation of up to 30 minutes.

Other Training and Engagement Opportunities
While these sessions provide quick insights and guidance, for a more in-depth interaction about the application of the Cumulative Pain method to your area of interest, we recommend applying to our Workshop. We also host regular live sessions where we discuss topics of broad interest related to our work. To be notified about these sessions, you can follow us on Linked in.
