Abstract
Lameness, a clinical indicator of a collection of disorders that affect the ability of an individual to walk, is widely considered a major problem in the broiler industry and the primary welfare concern for broilers [1,2] . It is defined as an impairment in the ability to walk normally as a result of injury, infection or deformity in one or more weight-bearing structures (e.g., skeleton, muscle, tendons, skin or nervous system in the legs and feet), and conformation [3,4] .
